Oak & Burr Walnut Coffee Table
This table is from Oak, with a top panel of book matched Burr American Walnut, protected by toughened glass. It also contains a concealed drawer.
It is part of a complete lounge suite including a bookcase and 2m sideboard
‘Pippy’ Oak Coffee Table
This is a small Coffee table with ‘Pippy’ Oak top. The pattern is created when a lot of twigs start to form but then do not develop into full size branches. It’s also often called ‘Cats Paw’ oak as it they have a similar shape.
A shallow shelf is provided underneath so the table can easily be cleared of magazines etc.

Blue Water Sycamore & Red Sycamore Coffee Tables
I made two coffee tables in this style – one with a red top for a client and another, larger one, with a blue top for exhibition – which I call the Blue Water Coffee Table as the ripple sycamore top gives it a watery look. These tables have highly lacquered surfaces to show off the ripple sycamore surface.
The blue one is still available for sale.

Sea to Shore Coffee Table
My Sea to Shore table was made as an experimental piece – one of the first pieces I used to explore contrasting textures between smooth polished wood and areas where the texture of the grain is highlighted by scouring out the softer areas.
Bovey Woods Coffee Table
Having moved to Devon I am keen to use locally sourced wood as much as possible. This coffee table is made from Douglas Fir, sourced from timber felled in 2016/7 in Bovey Woods.
The wood when felled shows both a light, pale yellow grain & red/pinkish sections. Once seasoned and worked, it gradually colours to a rich reddish hue.
The edge, front and back, is recessed and veneered with Burr American Black Walnut to provide a sharp contrast.
